| Phoenix Contact and ECT Implement Strategic Partnership |
Brookfield, WI, September 17,
2003, ECT International, the market leader in electrical
design software, has implemented product changes in a strategic partnership
with Phoenix Contact Inc., a market leader in electronic components
and connection systems. The partnership is designed to provide greater
convenience and increased product access for customers of both companies.
ECT's promis•e® electrical design software
now ships with a parts database that includes over 600 Phoenix Contact
electrical/electronic DIN-rail mounted products including terminal
blocks, relays, signal conditioning modules, input/output modules,
transient protection devices, power supplies, and distributed automation
I/O systems. A library of related symbols is also included. The database
and symbol library will be circulated on the Number 2 CD-ROM to all
existing users of the design software package. The Phoenix Contact
parts data and symbols also will be available as a download from both
companies' web sites and new parts drawing requests will be added
as ongoing updates. The new database will be demonstrated jointly
by both companies at the ISA Show in Houston, TX from 21 to 23 October.
"The addition of the Phoenix Contact parts data and symbols
are a great convenience to users of our software," said Arthur
Sawall, President of ECT International. "By providing a ready-to-use
database and symbol library for such widely used products, we save
the user from having to enter this information. This can save hundreds
of hours of data entry and symbol creation time." "This
partnership will allow our customers to work more efficiently and
effectively with our many innovative products and provide tremendous
savings in time and resources in electrical and automation designs.
With features like error checking, automatic Bill Of Material creation,
wire numbering, and ongoing enhancements, the promis•e software
is well suited to supporting the sales and marketing activities of
